‘Killing Gaza’ director Dan Cohen slams US double standards on freedom of speech at Resistance Film Festival held in Iran
The independent American journalist who co-directed the documentary about Israel’s 2014 war on Gaza with Max Blumenthal criticized the speech freedom in the United States at a meeting organized during the 15th International Resistance Film Festival in Tehran
He said that such freedom doesn’t exist practically in the country.
Referring to the theme of his doc, he also noted, “It is a chilling visual document of war crimes committed by the Israeli military, featuring direct testimony and evidence from the survivors.”
He also revealed his plan to make a documentary about how the US sanctions on Iran have inflicted serious damage on the lives of the ordinary people in the country.
As for the influence of monitoring social media in the US, he noted a trailer of his film has been removed from his Facebook page by managers of the social network.
The Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) is regarded as one of the most prestigious international film festivals in Iran.
The goal of the festival is to create an atmosphere of dialogue, understanding of current human sufferings, and to share experiences and new ideas.
The festival was held Friday, November 30, in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
